Specialist in engineering systems
We specialise in using model based engineering practices to design complex software intensive systems for real-time applications
The benefits of a model based approach to engineering systems
- Engineer system solutions that have a high degree of inherent complexity cost effectively
- Avoid introducing unnecessary complexity
- Achieve a common understanding of the system amongst stakeholders
- Improve quality by producing consistent architectures
- Improve organisational learning
- Reuse existing knowledge and create new solutions
There is evidence to show that visualising systems assists the understanding of complex problems. An image can be recognised by the brain in about 150 ms, and in a further 100 ms we can attach meaning to it (Thorpe, 1996). Images go directly into long term memory where they are indeliably etched (Burmark).
Clearly, problems arising from inherent complexity are not solved from visualising systems alone. Developing a system involves the consideration of all stakeholder concerns, ideally in such a way that the stakeholders can take an active role in analysis and synthesis processes. And this is where our services come into play.
